Creative Writing Marking for P5 and P6

Having taught English and Chinese Creative Writing for years, I've noticed that students are not able to get enough feedback in school for their composition and situational writing. Most of the time, only spelling and grammar mistakes are highlighted. Students are at a loss of how to improve to get that extra marks.

As we have limited seats for creative writing classes, parents are coming back to us to mark their kids' composition via email.

We look out for two main components that are part of the marking scheme in schools and PSLE: Content and Language. We give clear feedback and provide suggestions in areas that need improvement. We find our method effective in helping and motivating students in their writing, which in turn raises their marks.

PSLE English Listening Comprehension

After this week, the Oral component of PSLE will be over. 4 more weeks before the next component - Listening Comprehension. I'm ready for 4 weeks of practices on listening compre. The audio is sitting in the playlist of my iPhone. We can have the test anytime, anywhere.

Free Analysis of P5 and P6 Creative Writing

Unable to score higher in your school composition, no matter how hard you've tried? Send in your composition to my email address at chiang.tuition@gmail.com for an analysis and comment on your good points and the areas you need to improve on.

Creative Writing

There are 5 main steps to writing a good composition: Planning, A Good Introduction, Developing Characters, Using Creative Words and Phrases, and A Good Conclusion.

Students will be guided through these steps towards a better composition.

Dec 2010 Holiday Classes

Dear Parents,

In the current MOE Maths curriculum, the Model Approach is one of the basis on mathematical problem solving. Many students stumbled in their Maths problem sums as they were unable to grasp the techniques of using this approach. 

I'm conducting compact classes to developing students' skills in understanding and using the Model Approach to solve difficult problem sums. 

Duration: 3 half-day sessions of 3 hours each
